Monica Escalante
CFO/ VP of Community Education and Outreach
Monica has been working in end-of-life care since 2001. She is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization National Veteran Advisory Group. Monica also serves on the Advisory Board of the Companioning of the Dying and on the Board of the Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County.
Monica has extensive background in marketing research; she has conducted both qualitative and quantitative research in the Latino community nationwide on various health issues such as mental health, substance abuse, cancer prevention, and aging (for agencies including SAMHSA, CSAT, NIH, and NIA).
In her position as finance consultant with the Ministry of Finance in Bolivia, she worked with national healthcare institution budgets and did strategic planning. She also served as the Director of the Graduate School's Finance Office at the Catholic University in Bolivia.
Monica graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters of Science in Marketing and has a Masters in Public Policy and Management from the Catholic University (Bolivia) & Harvard University. Her undergraduate degree is in Business Administration.
